Traditionally, the Middle Ages covers a time period of about 1000 years from the fall of the Western Roman Empire in 476 AD to the end of the 15th century (marked by the end of the Hundred Years War, the voyages of Columbus and the re-conquest of Iberia from the Moors.) The start of the Middle Ages overlaps with the Classical Age of Ancient history while the end overlaps with the Renaissance. The Middle Ages encompasses many great and important events that continue to impact the world today.
