Vol. 51 Introduction - Serial 107
This volume contains documents discovered too late to be included where they belong. They supplement a number of other volumes, and contain material from Big Bethel (June 10, 1861) through Bull Run, various operations in Virginia in 1861 and 1862 and into Maryland in 1862.
There is also a large batch of US correspondence, starting in 1861 and running to June 23, 1865. Most of it is short messages, telegrams, or extracts from orders.
A variety of reports is tacked on at the end, including one about supplying the Army of the Potomac in 1863-64, battle reports from 1864, and correspondence about the attack on Wilmington, North Carolina (and Fort Fisher) in 1864.
