The United Nations
The United Nations

The United Nations grew out of the Atlantic Charter between the United States and Great Britain in 1941. In 1942, the United Nations Declaration was signed by the United States, Great Britain, China, and the Soviet Union, pledging to support each other to defeat Germany. The first meeting of the United Nations was held in 1945 in San Francisco with 50 nations attending.
