Potsdam Conference
Potsdam Conference

July 17-August 2, 1945
The Last meeting of the big three allies. Representing the United States was President Harry S. Truman, who had succeeded President Roosevelt upon Roosevelt's death earlier in the year; Great Britain was represented by Winston Churchill, who was replaced as British Prime Minister during the conference by Clement Attlee. Joseph Stalin represented the Soviet Union. The Potsdam Conference resulted in the Potsdam Declaration that called for the unconditional surrender of Japan.
