Origins of WWII - Europe

The Origins of World War II date back to the end of World War I and the Treaty Of Versailles. The Treaty of Versailles put the guilt for World War I squarely on Germany and forced them to pay the victorious nations for damage and casualties sustained in the four years of war. The treaty also limited the amount of arms (planes, tanks, ships, etc.) Germany was permitted to build. The reparations Germany were forced to pay brought economic ruin to the country in the 1930s. Rampant inflation and high unemployment were the norm, and a new political party, the Nazis, took advantage. (MORE)
