Richard Rowland Kirkland

Angel of Mercy

Richard Rowland Kirkland was born in August of 1843 in the Flat Rock Township, Kershaw County, South Carolina. He was the son of John A. and Mary Vaughn Kirkland. He enlisted in the Confederate army on April 9, 1861. He died at Chickamauga, September 20, 1863. He is buried in Quaker Cemetery in Camden, South Carolina. Richard Rowland Kirkland was just a South Carolina farm boy...who is now immortal.
