5th South Carolina Cavalry Regiment Company G Willington Rangers
This company was raised in Charleston District in February 1862,
by William L. Disher of Charleston, and was named in memory of the founder and
publisher of the Charleston Courier, Aaron Smith Willington (1781-1862). It was
mustered into Confederate service as Co. B, 6th (Jeffords') Battalion SC
Cavalry, on 20 February 1862.
