NEVADA

Nevada was still in its territorial phase when the Civil War broke out in 1861. It only managed to raise 1 cavalry battalion and 1 infantry battalion despite being admitted to the Union on October 31, 1864. It didn't have the population required for statehood, but the Republicans were eager for electoral votes, which they duly received but in the end didn't need. The territory/state lost 33 men, only two of which were killed or mortally wounded in action. A few skirmishes over the four years of the war served as the primary action.
