El Alamein
El Alamein (October 23-November 4, 1942)

Rommel reinforced those areas under assault, thus leaving other parts of his line exposed. Montgomery took advantage of this and initiated another attack on November 1. Rommel, short on supplies, began to retreat, but was ordered by Hitler to stand and fight. But, with the Afrika Corps in danger of being completely destroyed, Hitler allowed Rommel to continue his withdrawal.

Result: Decisive British Victory
