Original Title/Caption: “Unloading wounded soldier from an assault boat. Soldiers wounded at the front are moved to the hospital in this manner. New Guinea.”

 

Description: This black and white photograph shows a group of soldiers carrying a wounded soldier down steps to a waiting small boat.  Four soldiers carry the wounded man while another soldier holds the boat and still others man the boat.  This photograph was taken between 1942 and 1945 by the U.S. Army Signal Corps.
