Socialist Party

    The Socialist Party, around since 1892, reached the pinnacle of its electoral appeal during the election of 1912. In that year Socialist presidential candidate Eugene V. Debs more than doubled his 1908 vote total, receiving 901,873 votes. This represented over six percent of the total number of votes cast.
