The Political Process

        The four candidates and parties of the 1912 election chose to deal with the woman suffrage issue in different ways. The two lesser parties endorsed it, the Progressive Party and the Socialist Party; the two established parties did not, the Democratic Party and the Republican Party. The following pages will illustrate how these parties dealt with the issue and how interest groups kept the subject in the public eye if not at the center of every debate.
