This picture of a New York City woman's suffrage parade appeared in the July 1912 edition of World's Work. What can you learn about this form of pressure politics from this image? Notice who participated as well as who observed.

        Having women lead these marches, especially when demanding the vote, frightened and offended many traditionalists in the early 1910s, including many antisuffragists.
