Roosevelt and the Trusts

Trustbuster.jpg (131408 bytes)

Supporters of Roosevelt defended his actions against the trusts. While he was President, Roosevelt's support of railroad regulation and his pursuit of highly publicized antitrust cases proved quite popular. Although he wanted to regulate business behavior, not simply break up the trusts, Roosevelt nevertheless earned the popular lable of "trustbuster."
