Canadian wheat flooding the American market and depressing prices and farm incomes.
Already upset with Taft, this issue fostered the formation of a
"Progressive Republican League" and talk of opposing Taft's renomination in
1912. Their preferred candidate was Senator Robert LaFollette of Wisconsin.
