The Parties and Organized Labor

Historically, there was no "labor party" in the United States.  The Democratic and Republican parties had divided the worker vote.

The Socialist party sought to become a labor party, representing all workers and all lower class Americans.  The Socialist Party was growing by 1912, especially in some locales.

In the election of 1912, each of the four parties presented its approach to solving, or at least coping with, the problems of industrial labor in America society.
