Cartoons about Inflation

As with other issues surrounding the 1912 campaign, cartoonists addressed the cost of living. In this first cartoon, scanned from Puck, September 25, 1909,   the Democrats are observing that the poor consumer is seriously wounded by the knives of the Republicans and the special interests they represent.
