About David Staley: David Staley is Director of the Harvey Goldberg Program for Excellence in Teaching in the department of history at The Ohio State University. In this role, Dr. Staley oversees technology in the classroom initiatives for the department, encouraging the thoughtful use of digital technologies for purposes of teaching and scholarship. He is managing editor of the department’s two customized reader publication Retrieving the American Past and Exploring the European Past. He also oversees many of the department’s public outreach initiatives.
Staley is the author of Computers, Visualization and History: How New Technology Will Transform Our Understanding of the Past (M.E. Sharpe, 2003). His research interests include the philosophy of history and historical methodology; science, technology and society; and the history of images.
