About James Helicke:

James Helicke is a Ph.D. candidate in International History at the Ohio State University and managing editor for Origins.

His dissertation research focuses on Turkey’s foreign policy and its treatment of religious and ethnic minorities during the Second World War and in the early Cold War period. A graduate of the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, Helicke holds an M.A. from Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey. Helicke was formerly a correspondent for the Associated Press based in Turkey and also served as a Public Diplomacy Officer for the U.S. Department of State in Iraq.
