Andrew J. Carlson is a professor at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. He is also co-director of the Kossoye Project, which works in collaboration with the University of Gondar to improve the lives of rural Ethiopians. His latest book, co-authored with his father, Dennis G. Carlson, is Health, Wealth, and Family in Rural Ethiopia: Kossoye, North Gondar Region, 1963-2007 (Addis Ababa University Press, 2008).
