By using these methods described within, the author has discovered and verified the following Civil War Ancestral information (so far):

There were 314 Bompasse family members enlisted during the war.

Current known casualties are 11 killed, 23 wounded, 7 captured. One is buried at Arlington National Cemetery, and another at the Military Asylum Cemetery.

Union soldiers were 219 representing 15 states. Confederates soldiers numbered 95, representing 7 states.

Officers numbered 28, and non-commissioned officers were 19.

At the Battle of Gettysburg, July 1 through July 3, 1863:

A total of 49 related soldiers fought on both sides and often against each other.

There were 12 Confederate Bompasse relatives who represented:

Alabama 5th Infantry Regiment - attack on Little Round Top

North Carolina Graham's Artillery Battery - entire Gettysburg campaign

North Carolina 23rd Infantry Regiment, Iverson's Brigade, annihilated at Oak Hill

Virginia Artillery Units - Page's, Pendleton's, Woolfolk's, Rockbridge Batteries

Virginia 1st Cavalry , Fitzhugh Lee - Hunterstown and East Cavalry Fight

Virginia 1st Infantry Regiment, Kemper's Brigade - Pickett's Charge

Virginia 27th Infantry Regiment - The Stonewall Brigade

There were 37 Union Bompasse relatives who represented:

Maine 5th Infantry Regiment - Bartlett's Brigade, Wright's 1st Division, VI Corps

Maine 16th Infantry Regiment - Paul's Brigade, Robinson's Division, I Corps

Maine 17th Infantry Regiment - DeTrobriand's Brigade, Birney's Division, III Corps

Maine 19th Infantry Regiment - Harrow's Brigade, Gibbons' Division, II Corps

Maine 20th Infantry Regiment -Vincent's Brigade, Barnes' Division, V Corps

Massachusetts 2nd Infantry Regiment - Ruger's Brigade, Williams' Division, XII Corps
