Biography:   Ptolemy I was the son of one of Alexander the Great's generals, Lagus. After the death of Alexander IV, Ptolemy moved to Egypt. He shrewdly determined that having Alexander the Great's body buried in Egypt would give him a political and religious advantage. So he kidnapped the body as it was on it's way to Macedonia. Claiming that Alexander had really wanted to be buried in Egypt Ptolemy had his body interred there. This started the first of many wars between Egypt and Alexanders past generals.
