Dr. Jay Schroeder
Jay Schroeder is a native of New Orleans. He is married with two adult sons. He holds a B.A., Tulane (1963), M.A., Chapman (1972), Ed.D., Auburn (1979). He served as a USAF officer for 25 years, flying fighters, tankers, observation and reconnaissance aircraft. He served in Vietnam, receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross and 17 Air Medals. He retired in 1988. Subsequent to military service, he had a 14 year career as an airline pilot, retiring in 2002. He resides with his wife in Yorktown, Virginia, where he spends much of his time studying Civil War history.
